Your tour begins at **0700 hrs** with a pick-up from your hotel in Kalutara. If you are unable to have breakfast at your hotel, we recommend bringing a packed meal. The journey to Millennium Elephant Foundation takes approximately three hours, arriving around **1000 hrs**.
The Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF) is a family-run non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to improving the welfare of domestic elephants in Sri Lanka. MEF provides care, medical treatments, food, and salaries for mahouts, as well as operating a mobile veterinary unit for sick elephants in need. The **Elephant Walk Experience** offers an ethical, up-close, and personal alternative to traditional elephant rides.
During your **two-hour** visit to Pinnawala, you will witness the **feeding session** and later observe the elephants bathing in the river.
The tour concludes at **1200 hrs**, and you will begin your return journey to Kalutara, arriving back at your hotel by **1600 hrs**. You may stop for lunch en route or enjoy a meal in Pinnawala (at your own expense).
